Only a few more hours and we will be on our plane flying over the pacific all the way to the land of smiles.
For those of you who are not familiar with what we will be doing the majority of the next few weeks, here’s a little intro: most of our time is going to be spent in the northern region of Thailand with a gospel driven ministry called Baan Immanuel. They exist to serve, love and share the gospel of Jesus Christ with the communities of hill tribe peoples in Northern Thailand, with a specific calling to protect and raise up the next generation. Hill tribe people are without citizenship in Thailand, leaving them open to exploitation; children are the most vulnerable and are often abandoned and abused, many ending up in the commercial sex industry or forced labor in Southern Thailand and surrounding countries. While most of their efforts are on the children God has entrusted them with (over a hundred!), this is how they describe their ministry:
- House Ministry: making disciples of the children God has given us.
- Outreach Ministry: sharing the Gospel with every tribe, tongue, and nation
(our weekly outreaches).
- Helps Ministry: ministering to the needs of others as God directs and provides.
We are so blessed to share in what God is doing all the way over in Northern Thailand, and have a deep respect and love for the staff of Baan Immanuel. Please pray for them; this is an intense area with a lot of evil things taking place. They really are on the front lines.
We will be taking off around 9 AM tomorrow from LAX; we would really appreciate your prayers! If you read this before then, pray that we remember everything! There is so much to do.
Here’s me spending some quality time with the parent’s pup before we go. Can’t you feel the love? Gonna miss this guy.
Been meditating on this the last couple days; please pray for the love of Jesus to compel us in all that we do; without love everything we do is useless.
If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn’t love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn’t love others, I would be nothing. If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it; but if I didn’t love others, I would have gained nothing.
Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proudor rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out.Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.
